Hearty Surprise

Makes Life Interesting for Internet Entrepreneurs And All Others

Rope The Cow And Get $500

If 200 words can fetch $500 do you think anyone will leave the money on the table barn? Sounds interesting ?Yeah surely it is. John Cow is making money online and shares with us how it/he/they are doing it.

You know I am a wannabe internet entrepreneur who is ‘trying’ to make money online and at the same time sincerely want to be of some help to others who are taking the plunge.

That is why Hearty Surprise provides some good tips for doing business online and success stories of the people who made in big on the internet. Do you now see that we are cows of the same herd ? So if I link back to the mooing contest and win the $500, I can spend it as I please. First let me make a quick wish list.

  1. Buy interesting domains and put a ‘To-let’ board there. You can use it as a landing page for your sales.

  2. Register and pay for autoresponder service.

  3. Open an ebay shop and pay for the rental.

  4. Try my luck on google adwords.

  5. Distribute some money by holding similar love link contests. :)

Some of the domain I’ll convert into a niche site hosted by a nice web hosting company . This list is just the tip of the iceberg. If the cow agrees to give out a bit more than I have a bigger list to reveal.

Pay heed to the ‘moo’ing and try your luck in milking the cow by following this path.

Success Is Sweet

You would recall that on July 25th I had written a post spreading the links for the 1 GB Wrist band at www.andreasbard.com.  The result was announced yesterday and that is the reason for this post today. Yes I am the lucky winner of that thumb drive. Woooh Yeah !!!  This is the first ever prize I’ve won based on luck and it feels great.

The more important lesson is just to keep trying.Whether it is a contest based on luck or talent or just all our dreams of making it good in online business go on. And when we hit a success no matter how big or small the result is , use it to pep up our spirit to continue our journey.

Andreas has promised to send the wristband across asap. He is in Sweden and I am here in Singapore. When I get the band you can see it here. Thanks Andreas, I hope you had roped in new friends with this contest. Good Luck.

Update : I’ve received my wrist band. It got a cool look but heats up fast. May be because of the place I am in :)

Why not tell me interesting things you have won in contest like this ?

Spelling Bee 2007 - Evan O’Dorney

Serrefine” is the word which brough Evan O’Dorney  a 13 year old from California the ‘Spelling Bee’ title for 2007 and  $35,000 cash, a $5,000 scholarship, a $2,500 savings bond and a set of reference works.

I hunt for the Thesaurus, Dictionary or online spell checker to help me with common English words. With the participants tested on  fancy, unheard and under utilized nouns and verbs the competion gets  furthur  further complicated and beyond my mortal capacity.

Snatching the title from 286 contenders is no mean task especially for Evan who likes Maths and Music better than spellings.  Congrats Evan , please teach me some tricks to memorise memorize words . How many of you know the meaning of “serrefine” ?

National Geographic Bee - Hard work Pays

14-year-old Caitlin Snaring  has won the National Geographic Bee competion this year.  The winning answer was to the question “What city, divided by a river of the same name, was the imperial capital of Vietnam?”

National Geographic Bee  challenges children between 10-14 years on thier knowledge of geography, culture and geology.  The more interesting point here is that she was eliminated in the preliminary round last year but had answers for every question from round 1. So this is a success story of hard work and perseverance.

If you don’t know the answer to the question yet (didn’t bother to search for it)  it is -Hue.

Well see if you could answer one of the final round question- Chulym, an endangered language with fewer than 20 fluent speakers, is still spoken along a river with the same name that flows through the Tomsk Oblast in what large country?

Answer is Russia
